	<title>Alien Head Study</title>

	<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://features.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/256484/256484_1165005005_small.jpg"><br><br>This 3D head model was created from photos supplied by legendary monster man Rick Baker of an alien head, hand sculpted and formed in latex, for the feature Men In Black. Texture maps were taken directly from the mask itself. It was made entirely in LightWave 3D 9 running Boxx Systems.<br />

turning their way through our cities, coordinating a pint sized assault. A friend supplied the image he had taken on a trip to Chicago and I knew this would make a great backdrop for my saucers. All of the modeling and compositing was done in LW with a bit of PS CS2 for touchup work. <br />

This image is appearing on the newsstands in the latest issue of HDRI 3D.]]>

	<title>The Warchild</title>

	<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://features.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/256484/256484_1165007637_small.jpg"><br><br>This model was given to me by William &quot;Proton&quot; Vaughan to texture. The concept was a mongrel dog-warrior who had seen his fair share of the battlefield.<br />
<br />
The texture maps for each piece of his armor was hand painted in photoshop and positioned on his body. William wanted to really give the viewer the sense that the spikes were rusting and he had dried blood and dirt encrusted throughout.   ]]>

The costume was added for flavor, where I was taking a cartoonish look at the rather cartoonish performance of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Carribbean films. <br />

My goal was to add as much distinguishing detail as possible while retaining the simplicity of form and shape.]]>

	<title>Wooden Dinosaur composite</title>

This Trike was created in LightWave 3D 9. Every bone of this little wooden dino was hand traced in Modeler and surfaced with realistic wooden textures. Each bone was then micro-beveled for additional realism and assembled in the 3D workspace.<br />
<br />
The composite was done in Layout, where the lighting was matched to the existing photographic plate.]]>

Our task was to design an attractive layout based only on the 2D CAD floorplan. The walls were then extruded up and the space was formed in 3D. Through extensive R&amp;D, working closely with the client, furniture and design styles were chosen and constructed. ]]>

The junkyard scene (conceived and modeled by Block 4 students) was supplied. This was a team effort and I was responsible for the texturing of many of the background elements such as the tv's, Freddy Krueger glove, stained mattresses, and the design and execution of the chalkboard. I also handled the lighting for this shot.]]>
